SMART TIP GlobalSearch for iPad Preview Square 9® has been showing off the GlobalSearch for iPad every chance we get. The GlobalSearch app allows mobile users to keep business processes moving while on the go. To create greater awareness we have created a new GlobalSearch Preview video on the Square 9® YouTube Channel. Built on Apple's iOS mobile operating system, GlobalSearch gives users the immediate, fluid interface experience provided by most other iOS apps. GlobalSearch users can use gestures such as swipe, pinch and reverse pinch to manipulate documents, and they can switch documents from portrait to landscape mode by rotating the iPad in three dimensions. Square 9® now offering our resellers free SmartSearch Technical Training Class Square 9® will now be offering our resellers free SmartSearch Technical Training classes at our New Haven, CT facility. The goal with this new educational program is to help our resellers become better prepared to design, deliver and support advanced SmartSearch solutions. With over 40 feature enhancements in the current release of SmartSearch 3.1 and now GlobalSearch for iPad, we want to ensure that our resellers and their customers are getting the most out of SmartSearch. This onsite class held at our corporate offices in New Haven, CT will provide an interactive, class room style training course that will benefit not only our resellers but also the customers they support. Successful completion of this course will certify graduates as a SmartSearch System Engineer. TECHNICAL BRIEF SmartSearch now fully supported on Microsoft Small Business Server 2008 The Square 9® support team has been working diligently with Microsoft to improve cross application compatibility in 64-bit environments. We are happy to report that these efforts were successful and wanted to share the news with our user community. Because of server level changes that applications like SharePoint and Exchange make to IIS websites, 64-bit implementations of these applications had the potential to create compatibility issues with SmartSearch. Most notably impacted was Microsoft Small Business Server (SBS) 2008 when running in conjunction with Exchange. Note that SmartSearch is and has been 64-bit compatible for several years. The changes discussed here only impact users facing compatibility issues introduced by specific 64-bit implementations of certain Microsoft products. These changes involve IIS configuration only and you do not need a SmartSearch update to support these environments. It is also important to note that the changes required are implemented in a way that only impacts SmartSearch and should not affect other application on the server. Working with Microsoft Developer Support, our support team has written a very detailed, step-by-step guide to walk you through exactly how to configure your 64-bit server environment when multiple applications are resident on a single server.
