SMART TIPS Desktop Search Shortcut A frequent question posed to us is "Can I save a SmartSearch search out to the desktop? I would like to be able to run a search quickly when SmartSearch is not open like when I am on the phone." Although this feature is not available natively, it can easily be achieved using our Image XChange option.
After configuring your favorite searches to work with Image XChange, simply "ctrl + right click" on a blank section of the screen (any area where there is no text and/ or icons) and SmartSearch will display the query prompt of your favorite query. Type in the data for the document and the results will be displayed in the grid or viewer depending on how Image XChange is configured. Now you have direct access to your favorite searches and SmartSearch doesn't even have to be open. This is a great feature for customer service departments, executives, or anytime you want instant access to documents or to minimize training requirements for users that only require simple search and retrieve capabilities. SmartSearch Manages Police Reports, Court Records, Government Documents
Who says government can't be efficient?
The Town of Centerville had run out of storage space for its police reports and court records, and it wanted to be able to find and retrieve these documents more quickly and easily. When they learned how little it would cost to implement SmartSearch and how much money and time it would save, the town's mayor and aldermen acted decisively. "They decided we just couldn't afford not to use SmartSearch!" said Susan Griggs, the town clerk. Solution Profile: "I estimate that SmartSearch has saved me 15 hours each week that I can now devote to other town business, which equates to more than a 35-percent gain in my personal productivity"
