
SmartSearch 3.2.2 – What’s New?
With the dog days of summer firmly upon us, the team at Square 9 Softworks is looking to create a little excitement for our user community through the release of version 3.2.2. This release represents a balanced approach to feature enhancement including new tools for capture, retrieval and workflow. We also mixed in a new few utilities for improved system management and the result is a release that drives process efficiency to a new level.
Two exciting new enhancements increase efficiency by helping to eliminate document scanning through the ability to capture information prior to it becoming paper;
- Our new automated Email Import activity within Capture Workflow gives administrators the ability to monitor aPOP3 or IMAP mailbox and automatically pull in emails and/or their attachments. Whether it is for simple email archival or as part of a sophisticated workflow process, unattended email imports will be an important opportunity for change within our user community.
- As one of the most exciting new products we have introduced, Square 9 FreeForm represents the opportunity to move away from paper based form processes. With an easy to use web designer for forms creation and a drag & drop PDF field mapping tool, Square 9 FreeForm will rapidly move your organization away from manually processed paper based forms to workflow enabled digital image processes. With the v3.2.2 release, Square 9 FreeForm is now a fully integrated option available for the SmartSearch product suite.
Additional developments within v3.2.2 include enhanced Content Search functionality which consists of new phrase, phonics, and stemming based search capabilities. A new Fuzzy Logic search option is also available allowing users to factor in potential OCR misreads into content based searches.
Finally, several new administrative functions have been added in v3.2.2. Most notably is a new license management console for creating automated user log off settings and terminating active sessions when required. Also included is a Content Rebuild Utility for re-indexing full text records and new Active Directory support for individual user accounts.
Collectively the v3.2.2 summer release moves our user community ever closer to their dream of a paperless office. We’re not done yet though; stay tuned for exciting new web and workflow features scheduled for release in Q4 2011.
