Introduction Ricoh's eCabinet product has reached "end of life" status, and customers are looking for a supported document management platform to take over. Unfortunately, they have thousands or millions of documents in eCabinet that need to be transferred over. With the recent discontinuation of the Ricoh eCabinet we now offer a utility which will allow Square 9 Professional Services to convert eCabinet installations or their competitors over to SmartSearch. To support your efforts the Professional Services Group at Square 9 Softworks has released a new program called e-Cabinet Converter. e-Cabinet Converter is a service being offered to our partners that provides the ability to export the data and documents residing in an eCabinet installation through a back up copy of the system. The data and documents can then be easily imported into your SmartSearch archives for an easy migration part at a very reasonable cost. The e-Cabinet Converter service is priced based on size of the eCabinet backup network directory (in GB). The Conversion Process The process is simple, an external hard drive is shipped to the customer, where the backup directory is copied by the customer. We convert the metadata to a flat CSV file with the images exported to their native file format. eCabinet only allows for 10 text/vchar, 5 numeric and 5 date fields to be developed for each file cabinet Thus all fields are converted regardless of whether data exists in the column row The last column is the full path The full path emulates the eCabinet directory structure.
